The best time to schedule a first dental visit is when a child turns three. In fact, many preschools require a dental check-up. We take extra care to make a child's visit to the dentist a "happy visit," blowing up balloons and giving "rides" in the dental chair to toddlers. We believe that if children are introduced to dentistry in a positive way, they'll have positive impressions of dental care throughout their lives.

Sealants - Protection For Kids' Teeth
During the cavity-prone years, we can apply sealants to children's teeth to help prevent decay. These are plastic films that cover the chewing surfaces of the teeth, and they help keep decay out of the pits and fissures in children's teeth that brushing and flossing can't reach.

Preventive Dental Care
We like to emphasize preventive dental care at every age, and we believe that your natural teeth can and should last a lifetime. The keys to good dental health are: brushing and flossing daily, coming in for regular cleanings and exams, and completing dental treatment when it's recommended.

At Clocktower Family Dental, we pay attention not only to your teeth, but also to your gums. Most adult tooth loss can be attributed to periodontal (gum) disease, not cavities. More alarmingly, multiple studies have tied periodontal disease to other health issues, such as heart disease, diabetes, and strokes. In our office, we have a soft tissue management program that includes measuring the health of your gums and treating gum disease at its earliest stages.
