Dr. Merrill Alley, DMD, is a warm and approachable general dentist dedicated to helping patients feel comfortable, cared for, and confident in their dental experience. Known for his calm and easygoing demeanor, Dr. Alley takes time to build genuine connections with his patients and is especially appreciated by those who feel uneasy about visiting the dentist.
Dr. Alley earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia after completing his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University. He then served for 20 years in the United States Air Force, where he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Throughout his military career, Dr. Alley practiced dentistry around the world while caring for military members and their families in a variety of settings, including assignments in Mississippi, Japan, Germany, Turkey, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Colorado. In addition to treating deployed troops, he also served in leadership and mentorship roles, helping train and support fellow dentists and medical personnel. He has also participated in humanitarian dental work in Peru, providing care to underserved communities in the Andes Mountains.
After years of travel and service, Dr. Alley and his family are excited to call Colorado home and to be part of the Clocktower Dental team. He and his wife have four children and a daughter-in-law, and they love spending time together outdoors with family and friends.
Outside the office, Dr. Alley enjoys just about anything on two wheels, including road biking, mountain biking, and e-biking. He also loves sports, music, and has taught himself to play the cello over the past several years.
